DESCRIPTION #Metoo public space and #Metoo workspace is based on true accounts from women in Nepal’s public space and workspace. The two short films are made by an all women crew.
For many in Nepal, the #MeToo movement remains unrecognized, and when people know about it, it is considered unthinkable to speak up.
Why? Because speaking out will have social consequences.
But, today the local and international media is finally opening up to active discourse on women’s issues, and we are already seeing changes in attitudes because of that.
These conversations lead by the #metoo movement have shown that when we come together, and stand up to sexual harassment it is possible to challenge the pre-existing system and bring lasting change.
As a film and television production company, Gauthali Ent realizes the power we have and the responsibility that this power brings. We have decided to use our voice to speak up for those who cannot and for those who do not want to. We will provide space for those who wish to speak.
Bringing forth women issues has always been a priority for Gauthali Entertainment. We know that change is possible and until that happens we will not stop.
