Besides campaigning to make better films, Gauthali has been providing workshops and film education especially to students with a special focus on individuals living outside of Kathmandu.
We believe that independent films in Nepal are very much confined to Kathmandu. Gauthali attempts to take filmmaking outside of Kathmandu by training individuals outside.
So far, we have conducted workshops in Nepalgunj, Dolakha, and Janakpur to name a few areas.
VIDEO ESSAYS 2017-2021
We collaborate with the students from Kathmandu University and produce video essays, reviewing Nepali films through a feminist lens.

STORIES WE TELL
Gauthali Entertainment regularly conducts film workshops in places with no access to filmmaking training, collaborating with locals while they write and produce their own stories.
Stories We Tell is our campaign that encourages Nepalis to take up the medium of storytelling. In a workshop modality, the participants work with their mentors to conceptualize, write, and even produce their own short films.
So far, two films have been made from these workshops.
- After our wonderful workshop in Nepalgunj with an all women participants-
Felt Cute, Might Delete Later (unreleased)
- In this workshop film, we collaborated with Artudio in their ‘Dolakha Album’ where we trained the locals of Dolakha to be a part of the film- सपना Dream.
